GSA supports the game formats played across ASEAN courses every weekend. Here’s exactly how each one works.
Individual Game
Each player competes against every other player on every hole. The lowest score wins a bet unit from each other participating player. Ties result in no exchange.
Players can opt in or out of the individual game on a per-game basis — useful when skill levels are very different or when someone just wants to track scores without financial stakes.
Individual game can be combined with the team game simultaneously — GSA calculates both and shows a combined total at the end.
Example: Hole 5, Par 4
- Player A: 3 strokes (opted in)
- Player B: 5 strokes (opted in)
- Player C: 4 strokes (opted in)
- Player D: 3 strokes (opted out)
Result
- Player A wins (lowest among participants)
- Player A receives 1 bet unit from B and C
- Player A: +2 bet units
- Player B: -1 bet unit
- Player C: -1 bet unit
- Player D: no change (opted out)
Team Game
Available for 4-player games only. Players pair into teams of 2, with partnerships rotating every 6 holes — ensuring each player partners with everyone else during the round.
Two calculation modes available: Standard Mode (best score comparison, with second score as tiebreaker) and HighHigh LowLow Mode (a team wins only if they win both best and second-best comparisons — creates more draws, lower stakes per hole).
Team Rotation (Starting Hole 1)
- Holes 1–6: A&B vs C&D
- Holes 7–12: A&C vs B&D
- Holes 13–18: A&D vs B&C
Standard Mode — Hole Result
- Compare best (lowest) score from each team
- If tied, compare second scores
- Winning team: each player receives 1 bet unit from each losing player
- Full tie: hole is a draw
Lunch Pool
Instead of direct cash settlement between players, the Lunch Pool collects contributions based on performance — funding the post-round meal rather than individual payouts.
It’s an alternative to cash settlement, not an addition. Players choose at the end whether to use the direct settlement total or the Lunch Pool contribution.
Works best in groups where direct cash exchanges feel awkward — the pool approach keeps things fun and social.
Contribution Formula (4 players, all in individual game)
- Each draw (individual or team): contribute 1 bet unit
- Each loss (individual or team): contribute 2 bet units
- Wins: no contribution
The Logic
The player who performs worst across the round contributes the most to the pool. The pool total funds lunch for the group. Best performer effectively eats free.
Colour-Coded Scoring
GSA uses a colour system to visually represent performance relative to par on every hole — the same system used in professional golf broadcasts, adapted for mobile.
At a glance, everyone at the table can see who had a strong hole and who had a tough one — without needing to read the numbers.
